Lazy Sunday Morning – Scones

Chef TV is back with a new episode. Catch Chef Myrna as she prepares a perfect breakfast with friends – Chef Jill and Micky.

Scones

SCONES
1 1/3 cups sifted cake flour,
1 1/3 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, cut into cubes then chilled
¾ cup buttermilk
milk, cream or egg wash, for glazing
granulated sugar, for topping

1.        Preheat oven to 425 F. Prepare baking sheet. Set aside.
2.        In a bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles a coarse cornmeal.
3.        Add buttermilk. Form into a bowl. Pat and fold and cut into desired size.
4.        Place in prepared baking sheet and brush with cream or milk or egg wash if desired.
5.        Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until done.
Serve with clotted cream and jam

Its better with sour cream instead of butter milk

Where can I get buttermilk? Or what can I substitute for it?
